Friends of Alexandra Park
Friends of Alexandra Park is predominantly a group of local people who use the park and want to have an input in it's future by working with Glasgow City Council. The group is now constituted, and looking into funding sources. We are looking for enthusiastic people to join the committee or anyone who can spare a little time each month to attend a meeting and/or help out doing things in the park (e.g. planting).
If you would like more information please get in touch.
Suggestions, comments and opinions are welcome from everyone and these should also be directed to the above details.
Park Walks
The Alexandra Park walking group meets at 7pm every Tuesday (from 31st March until October, approximately).
We will be meeting at the main park gates at 7pm and heading off no later than 7.05pm!! As in previous years the walks will be tailored to the level of fitness of the people who come along. These walks are really aimed at people who might fancy a walk in the park in the evenings but are perhaps a bit apprehensive about walking on their own or who would like just like the motivation of getting into a routine!
We walk in rail, hail or shine - so please make sure you wear appropriate clothing and footweear. Any U16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult; and any dogs must likewise be accompanied by a responsible owner! You do NOT need to register in advance to attend - just come along on Tuesday nights. If you'd like to know more, just get in touch.
